Rolex "Jurassic" Fossil Day-Date 18238

Rolex Day-Date Fossil

The superb condition of the case and bracelet Rolex Day-Date, ref. 18238 are enough by themselves to make this a special watch, but it is really the dial that sets it apart. This 18238 is fitted with an extremely rare “Fossil” dial, that’s right, the dial is made from fossil millions of years in the making.

Experts estimate that as many as 1,000 dials were scrapped for every one that met the quality Rolex demanded. Once the dials were cut, the diall maker was still faced with the challenge of cutting day and date windows and fixing 10 diamond hour markers. This is truly a spectacular and rare Day-Date.
