At the center of this reference 18039 is an exceptional oxblood Stella dial, its deep burgundy lacquer displaying the rich, glossy character that makes these dials so distinctive. The color is complemented by factory-set diamond hour markers, including baguette-cut diamonds at six and nine, lending the dial an additional sense of depth and formality.
Of particular interest is the dials rare silver printing. Rather than the more commonly encountered gold-toned text, the Rolex signature, chronometer designation and minute track are rendered in silver, creating a subtle tonal relationship with the white gold case. Against the oxblood lacquer, the effect is unusually crisp and restrained, allowing the richness of the dial and diamond setting to remain the focus.
The reference 18039 belongs to the succeeding generation of Day-Date introduced in the late 1970s, distinguished from the earlier 1803 by its sapphire crystal and quick-set date calibre 3055. The present watch, with its 5.50 million serial number, dates to circa 1978 and represents an early example of the reference.
The 36mm white-gold case is preserved in excellent condition, retaining substantial proportions, well-defined lugs and visible hallmarks to the reverse. It is completed by its white-gold President bracelet and fluted bezel. Bringing together an oxblood Stella dial, diamond-set indexes and the particularly rare silver-print configuration, this is an unusually compelling expression of the vintage Day-Date.

International shipping can take a number of days considering customs and travel. Straps made from exotic materials banned for import will be removed from the watch prior to shipping.
We know it can be difficult be completely certainly that a watch's condition, size or shape is what you are looking for.
We provide a 5 day inspection period from delivery so that you may receive the watch and decide if it is right for you.
This is not a trial period; our watches are well documented and any wear or damage will be deducted from the return amount.

This includes abnormal time keeping relative to the watches age, battery replacements and general mechanical issues inside the watch. Many of the watches we sell are vintage and thus may gain or lose more time than modern specifications.
