At the heart of this reference 1803 is its exceptional green Stella dial, one of the most charismatic and sought-after colors found within Rolexs celebrated family of lacquer dials. Its deep, glossy surface shifts from rich forest green to considerably brighter tones depending on the light, a quality heightened by the relative simplicity of the Day-Date display.

The green lacquer is complemented by applied white-gold baton indexes and matching hands, while the stepped pie-pan profile gives the dial additional depth. set inside a white gold case, the cool tone of the metal allowing the saturated green dial to remain the unmistakable focal point of the watch.

Stella dials represent one of the more unconventional episodes in vintage Rolex production. Their richly colored lacquer surfaces appeared in a spectrum ranging from oxblood and orange to turquoise and green, offering a dramatic alternative to the silver, champagne and black dials more typically associated with the Day-Date. Surviving examples have become increasingly appreciated for both their scarcity and the remarkable individuality they bring to an otherwise classical Rolex design.

With a 2.61 million serial number dating it to approximately 1971, this white-gold reference 1803 brings together two particularly desirable elements of the early Day-Date: the understated presence of white gold and the extraordinary color of a green Stella dial.
