First introduced in 1971, the Explorer II has become an iconic design for Rolexs sport model watches. Since its creation, the Explorer II has become the wristwatch of choice for hikers, mountaineers, speleologists, volcanologists, and polar and jungle explorers. Its robust design and classic features makes it the perfect watch for daily wear or as a tool for your greatest adventures. This particular Explorer II is from 1987 and has a caseback engraved 1989 Steger International Polar Expedition. Will Steger is an explorer and conservationist, most well known for his dogsled expeditions to the North Poll. In 1989, the same year noted on this watch, Steger led the first dogsled expedition to traverse the Antarctica, traveling 3,471 miles by dogsled. Other notable Steger expeditions include the longest unsupported dogsled expeditions in history which traveled across Greenland without any resupply or assistance in 1988, and the first and only expeditions to cross the Arctic by dogsled, traveling from Russia to Ellesmere Island in Canada in 1995. Steger may be the greatest explorer since Sir John Hunts ascent of Mount Everest to have relied on Rolex to help guide his journey.

Once your watch is ready, watches shipped within the United States are sent via insured FedEx Overnight and will arrive the next day. We will send over tracking information once the watch ships.

International shipping can take a number of days considering customs and travel. Straps made from exotic materials banned for import will be removed from the watch prior to shipping.

We know it can be difficult be completely certainly that a watch's condition, size or shape is what you are looking for.

We provide a 5 day inspection period from delivery so that you may receive the watch and decide if it is right for you.

This is not a trial period; our watches are well documented and any wear or damage will be deducted from the return amount.

This includes abnormal time keeping relative to the watches age, battery replacements and general mechanical issues inside the watch.
