This Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3588 reflects a pivotal moment in the manufactures modern history when elegance was refined through engineering. Introduced in the 1970s, the reference emerged as part of Patek Philippes pursuit of ultra-thin automatic watchmaking, made possible by the Jaeger-LeCoultre base caliber 28-255, at the time the flattest self-winding movement ever produced. This example is particularly rare due to its guilloche dial with black Breguet numerals.
Housed in a 35mm white gold case, the 3588 measures just 6mm in thickness, a remarkable achievement that remains impressive to this day. The proportions are balanced, allowing the watch to sit effortlessly on the wrist. The dial is quietly complex, built around texture rather than contrast. A finely executed guilloche surface forms the foundation, catching light subtly and giving depth without disrupting its restraint.
Set against this textured field are black Breguet numerals, their calligraphic forms providing a gentle classical counterpoint to the precision of the guilloche. Slim pointed stick hands complete the composition, allowing the dial to remain open and uncluttered. When a watch is purchased, our watchmaker will perform a thorough inspection of the movement and perform a number of tests to ensure the watch is functioning in top condition before shipping. This process can take 7-10 business days.
Once your watch is ready, watches shipped within the United States are sent via insured FedEx Overnight and will arrive the next day. We will send over tracking information once the watch ships.
International shipping can take a number of days considering customs and travel. Straps made from exotic materials banned for import will be removed from the watch prior to shipping.

We provide a 5 day inspection period from delivery so that you may receive the watch and decide if it is right for you.
This is not a trial period; our watches are well documented and any wear or damage will be deducted from the return amount.
