Cartier London watches have becoming increasingly sought after and difficult to track down in original condition. This remarkable specimen is a rare large size Cintree in wonderful original condition with a loving engraving from 1973.
The large-size curved yellow gold case, measuring approximately 21mm x 42.5mm, presents in excellent overall condition with light, typical wear consistent with age. The edges remain well defined and the London hallmarks are crisp and clear, indicating minimal polishing over time. The original curved crystal shows minor surface marks under close inspection. The case back bears a hand-engraved inscription reading My Darling Willoughby. 16.11.73. From Caroline., which appears period-correct and adds a charming, personal provenance to the piece.
The cream dial has developed visible cracking and age-related patina throughout, typical of unrestored Cartier London examples from this era. Importantly, the dial remains entirely original and unrestored, preserving its factory printing, character, and texture. The Roman numerals and inner minute track are still clearly legible, and the blued steel hands retain their original tone.
The mechanical movement is clean and running at the time of cataloguing. Service history is unknown, and the watch may benefit from routine inspection and servicing at the discretion of the next owner.

We provide a 5 day inspection period from delivery so that you may receive the watch and decide if it is right for you.
This is not a trial period; our watches are well documented and any wear or damage will be deducted from the return amount.
