A rare and technically expressive take on Gerald Gentas most enduring design, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Skeleton Ref. 14789BA brings high horology directly to the surface. Executed in yellow gold, this reference transforms the Royal Oaks familiar geometry into a showcase of openworked architecture, where movement finishing and structural balance become the dial itself.

Measuring 39mm, the case retains the proportions that define the Royal Oaks original spirit, while the skeletonized dial reveals Audemars Piguets meticulous hand-finishingbeveled bridges, sharp internal angles, and a carefully considered layout that preserves legibility without sacrificing transparency. The interplay between the warm tone of yellow gold and the exposed mechanics creates a watch that feels both assertive and refined.

This example bears a D-series serial number, dating production to the 1990sa period when Audemars Piguet was pushing the Royal Oak beyond its steel sports origins and firmly into the realm of haute horlogerie experimentation. Preserved in excellent condition, the watch remains crisp and well-defined, underscoring its careful ownership and collectibility.

The Royal Oak Skeleton 14789BA stands as a compelling chapter in the evolution of the Royal Oak: not merely an icon of design, but a platform for serious watchmaking, where form, finish, and mechanical artistry converge..
