The combination of a silvered dial, sharply contrasting black registers and black acrylic tachymeter bezel is punctuated by the oversized red DAYTONA signature arcing above the six oclock registera small flourish of color that has come to define the final generation of Rolexs hand-wound chronograph.\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWith a 6.05 million serial number, the present example dates to circa 1979. \n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWhat sets this example apart is its state of preservation. The case remains remarkably full and sharply defined, with substantial lugs and clear geometry throughout. Its silvered dial is similarly impressive, retaining a clean surface, strong printing and, importantly, a complete set of luminous plots around its perimeter. The black registers remain rich and well defined, while the red DAYTONA signature retains the vivid contrast that gives this configuration its enduring appeal.\n\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nFitted to its stainless-steel Oyster bracelet with 571 end links, the watch has the purposeful character that makes the 6263 such an appealing vintage Rolex: robust, highly legible and unmistakably a product of its era.
