Patek Philippe Chronograph 5170
While many of us equate Patek Philippe with producing some of the world’s finest complicated watches like their perpetual calendars, split second chronographs and minute repeaters, the brand has a long history in producing some of the most stunning chronograph-only watches, including the reference 130, 533 and more recently the 5070. One of their most well known modern chronographs is the 5170. This gorgeous chronograph features a 39mm case, two register dial, squared chrono pushers and a 29-535 movement. Many collectors know this watch by its simple yet powerful design, but fewer know of the very first examples produced.
Anniversary Edition Patek Philippe 5170 for Beyer
The first 5170s were released in 2010 and produced in yellow gold; the very first of those examples were produced to celebrate the 250th anniversary of historic Swiss retailer Beyer. In celebration of the iconic retailers anniversary, Patek produced only 50 limited edition 5170Js which feature the Beyer logo stamped just above the six o’clock marker. These watches originally came with two casebacks, one exhibition displaying the movement and another engraved to commemorate the anniversary.
Offered here is an extremely rare Patek Philippe Chronograph, ref 5170J in fantastic condition. This watch no longer has it’s original warranty or solid caseback, but an Extract from the Archives at Patek Philippe is on its way.
